Getting Started at St. Edward's University

St. Edward's University is a nationally ranked university with partner campuses in 10 countries.  We provide an inspiring, academically challenging environment that emphasizes global perspective and prepares students to make a difference in their world.  So, let's get started! You will need to:

1. Contact Chris Garcia (512) 448-8766 before you submit your application.  Please let us know if you have previously used your VA education benefit.

2. Meeting with admissions to discuss programs and major.

3. Apply for admission.

4. Submit all transcripts, including military transcript, to the Office
of Admission. If Air Force, submit Community College of the Airforce transcript.

 --Once your are accepted--

1. Meet with an academic advisor to declare a major and enroll in classes.

2. Submit required documents to the St. Edward’s University VA Coordinator.

3. If necessary, apply for financial assistance.
  • Apply for a FSA ID
  • Apply for Financial Aid using FAFSA

--VA Certification--

1. Once all required documents are received in the St. Edward’s University VA Coordinator’s office, your enrollment will be transmitted to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) after you have completed the Request to be Certified for each semester.

2. Book stipend (paid to student) and tuition (paid to St. Edward’s University) are generally disbursed at the same time, approximately 3 to 4 weeks after submission of your enrollment to the DVA.

3. BAH is paid directly to the student and typically is paid on the first of each full month of attendance. All payments are controlled by DVA, not by St. Edward’s University.

Hazlewood

As a private university, St. Edward’s is unable to participate in the Hazlewood Program.
