New Media Center Conference Update – Mike
Farrall shared his experiences at the New Media Center Conference
in Blacksburg, VA. Mike recommends that faculty and IT people
go to form networks to participate in collaborative projects.
The NMC conference showcased innovative applications of technology
in education. The NMC web site is www.nmc.org
Library
Introduction of Joe Wojotiwicz as a systems librarian. Joe is
responsible for the catalog, technical resources – databases,
etc., also serving as liason between Library & IT
Discussion Topics
Recap of 6/5 meeting: TLTR role in governance
– continuing discussion with Bill & John & rest
of TLTR. We discussed goverenance structure – faculty senate,
admin council, academic council.
Mary – Academic council rep
Bill – Admin staff rep
John – Graduate council
Council of Deans
Suggestion: TLTR rep could report back to faculty senate. Meetings
could be scheduled to allow for coordination with faculty senate
meetings
? How should all of these issues flow to these groups ?
? How do we ensure that TLTR faculty share information with schools ?
