1098-T Forms/Education Tax Credits:
Each January, Student Financial Services mails out an IRS document called the 1098-T.  This form helps students and their families determine eligibility for possible federal education tax credits.

You can help our office in its mission to be a good steward of university resources by electing to access your 1098-T information via the web as opposed to having it mailed to you.  In early January, you'll receive a email to your St. Edward's account letting you know your form is available for viewing.  This page will include all the same information as the printed form, plus you won't have to worry about sensitive personal data find its way to you through the regular mail system.  Since it's online, you'll have instant access to this information at any time (for example, if you need to provide it to a tax preparer).

To sign up:

• Log into your university EdWeb Account
• Click on the Billing Information link, located in the left-hand frame
• Click on the 1098-T link, located in the bottom-frame
• Change the Change My Preference button to "In electronic form only"

Did You Know?
You can access all your financial-related information through the "Billing Information" section of EdWeb.  In this area, you can view or print your semester’s bill, student account activity, payment plans, 1098T Tax information and all your financial aid information.

A Caution about Dropping Classes:
If you're thinking about dropping a class, you can find the current semester refund schedule here. However, if you have financial assistance, you need to contact our office before you drop, because it can have a significant impact on your eligibility.

Students who drop a class may have their assistance revised, which can result in the loss of grants and the return of loan funds to their lenders as well as the loss of future assistance. Students who completely withdraw will have a percentage of their aid returned to the original funding sources, leaving them owing a potentially large tuition balance. Plus, these students will lose future eligibility for assistance at St. Edward's.
