On Friday, May 4th, Generation TX is asking students, families, business and community leaders around the state to celebrate the second annual GenTX Day by wearing their favorite college t-shirts in a united show of support for building a college-going culture that supports Texas students in pursuing career and technical training, 2-year and 4-year degrees following high school.
Generation TX is a statewide initiative supported by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board that is focused on creating a college-going culture across the state. Through GenTX Day and other seasonal promotions, Generation TX is clarifying the path to college for Texas students and families by providing information on college readiness, college application and financial aid in a fresh and engaging manner. “Every person wearing a college t-shirt represents an opportunity to start a conversation with a student about college.”
Increasing rates of participation and success is critical to the future of Texas, and is particularly critical as Central Texas continues to compete to attract investment and knowledge workers to our region. We would love to have all our community members participate in GenTX Day on Friday, May 4th. To learn more and to view a video from last year’s GenTX Day, visit http://gentx.org/gentxday
