Hunt, Le Mans & Johnson Halls

""""""

Discover urban living in the heart of campus. The residential village is composed of three residence halls--Hunt and Le Mans Halls, which house freshman students, and Johnson Hall, for upperclass students-- which offer a variety of designer touches in a contemporary environment. The halls feature kitchens, a large recreation room, laundry facilities, on-site resident mailboxes, 24-hour computer labs and study areas. In addition, the complex houses the university's second dining hall, convenience store, coffee shop and Health & Counseling Center. Since 2010, Le Mans Hall has been home to the Natural Sciences Living Learning Community (LLC), funded by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation. In 2012,  Johnson Hall becomes home to the Faith & Service Living Learning Community, the university's first LLC for upperclass residents.

Roy Pequeno - Humble, TX - Residence Director

My name is Roy Pequeño and I am excited to be back on the hilltop. After graduating from St. Edward’s, with a Bachelors in Spanish International Business, I joined the Holy Cross Associates as an international volunteer. My two and a half year commitment allowed me to experience being a teacher, campus minister, food minister and live in South America (Bolivia for five months and Chile for two years). I am originally from South Texas but refer to Humble as home. I enjoy playing sports, camping, reading, watching movies, listening to music, wearing Hawaiian shirts and, of course, chillaxin’ whenever possible. I am extremely excited to be returning to the complex as a Residence Director and look forward to creating some new events and traditions! Be prepared, we are going to change the dynamic around campus!  If you have a chance, please feel free to swing by my office (located on the first floor of Le Mans Hall) and chat.

Peter Scheible ~ Austin, TX ~ Hunt 228

My name is Peter Scheible. I'm an Economics major and I  also study the German and Japanese langauges. Previously, I worked as a Math tutor so if you've got questions feel free to come to me and I'll help as much as I can. I've lived in Austin almost my whole life, so I'm a good resource if you're concerned with living in an unfamiliar city. In my free time, I love to exercise, watch movies, and play games. I'm unbelievably excited for this year and cannot wait to meet all my residents. It's going to be an awesome year.

Meagan Betts ~ Houston, TX ~ Hunt 244

Hello, my name is Meagan Betts, and I will be a sophomore this year. Currently I am double-majoring in psychology and lbusiness, with a minor in Spanish. I am from Houston, and love everything about St. Edwards, Austin, and Texas in general. I think everyday should involve laughter and fun, and I can't wait to bring that to Hunt Hall. I look forward to a great year!

Jordan Schmid ~ Lindale, TX ~ Hunt 328

Howdy! My name is Jordan Schmid and I am from the East Texas (Tyler) area, although there are a few different places I have lived that I consider as more of my home. I am a junior here at Saint Edward’s and I am majoring in History. I love to travel mostly under the realm of mission/service projects. I also enjoy playing and watching sports as well as outdoor adventures especially in the great city of Austin. I am a first year RA and I am really looking forward to getting to know my residents and just having a good time!

Elisabeth Kelso ~ Boise, ID ~ Hunt 344

Hi everyone!  I am stoked for my second year as a Resident Assistant at Hunt Hall in The Village. I am senior majoring in English Writing and Rhetoric with a double minor in Spanish and Graphic Design, and eager to pass on my Topper wisdom (of everything from academics to breakfast tacos at the coffee shop) to the freshmen on in the complex. I can often be found jamming out to salsa, bachata, and merengue in my room or playing bluegrass music on my mandolin. I also like turning pirouettes in front of my mirror.

Laulie Eckeberger ~ Dallas, TX ~ Hunt 428

Hello!  My name is Laulie and I am entering my junior year here at SEU.  This will be my first year as an RA but have spent the past two years getting extremely involved in campus life.  If you have any questions about how to get involved, or about SEU, please feel free to find me.  In my free time I enjoy engaging in social justice, whether it be participating in service trips or becoming more educated on an upcoming issue.

Chandler Sager ~ Friendswood, TX ~ Hunt 444

Well hey there everyone! My name is Barbara Swyryn and this year I will be a sophomore and a first year RA at St. Ed’s.  I am majoring in Global Studies with an emphasis on Latin America as well as minoring in communications.  I love doing arts and crafts, telling stories and having all night movie marathons on the weekends.  I am super excited for this coming year.  Of course my door is always open, and I’d like all of y’all to feel free to stop by my room anytime for hot cocoa, light chitchat or even deep philosophical discussion!

Jana Soares ~ Suffern, NY ~ Le Mans 314 (Natural Science LLC)

Welcome to the Hilltop, everyone!  My name is Jana Soares and my family and I moved to Austin from Suffern, NY, this summer.  Since last year, I have been happy to call St. Edward’s my home.  I am a sophomore Biology major, was in the Natural Sciences LLC last year, and am excited to be the RA there this year.  My hobbies include reading, writing, doing arts and crafts, and playing board games.  Participating in campus activities and meeting new people through service projects is always something I enjoy.  I ran cross country through middle and high school, so I love to be active and am game for pretty much any type of sport or outdoor activity.  I look forward to hanging out, helping out, and getting to know you this year!

Sammy Bissett ~ Houston, TX ~ Le Mans 414

Hey everybody! My name is Sammy Bissett and I am a senior from Houston, Texas. I am a Communication major that eventually wants to hold a Public Relations position for a major sports franchise. I love baseball, football, and anything that involves competition. Outside of being an RA, I am the President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) organization on campus. I enjoy talking and getting to know new people along with making sure I can be as resourceful as possible for those in need. With that being said I love to clown around and crack as many jokes as possible in a 24 hour period! I am look forward to helping out and hanging out with my residents this year as my residents last year made an incredibly positive impact on my life. Can't wait to cap off an awesome 4 years on the Hilltop with an amazing senior year!!! Give em Hill!

Devin Guiberson ~ Iowa City, IA ~ Johnson 249

Hey Everyone! My name is Devin Guiberson and  I am a senior majoring in Psychology. This will be my first year in Johnson and I could not be more excited! For the past two years I have been in the apartments and I cannot wait to have the experience of being in Johnson Hall. I am originally from Des Moines, IA but have spent many years living in Houston. I love watching football, working out, and watching reality TV shows so if you ever need someone to join you in those activities or any others, I'm your girl! I am a very open and friendly person who would love to get the chance to get to know you. If you see me around, feel free to stop me and ask questions, chat, or just say hi. I hope to make this year as fun as possible!

Noah Corn ~ Indianapolis, IN ~ Johnson 349

Namaste, my name is Noah, the RA for Lady Bird Johnson's third floor. I'm a graduate of St. Edward's University with a BA in English Writing & Rhetoric, and I am now enrolled in the Master of Arts in College Student Development graduate program. This is my fourth year as an RA, and I'm as excited as ever to help others learn and to learn from others in the residence halls. If you every have a question, I'm always happy to give an answer, or find someone who does. Some of my interests include cloud watching and companionable silences.

Molly Hynes ~ Wichita Falls, TX ~ Johnson 449 (Faith & Service LLC)

Hello, y'all! My name is Molly and I'm the summer RA for fourth floor Johnson.  As a senior, this is the beginning of my third year as an RA, though I did take a semester break while I was studying abroad in Angers, France last Fall. My focus at St. Ed's is Religious Studies with a minor in History, a combination that perfectly prepares me for the question "So... what do you want to do with that?"  I don't quite have an answer for that, so I avoid further interrogation by doing a range of hobbies from running and baking to crafting and reading and drinking coffee, which I hope you join in on.  I'm excited to get to know you and see you around the Village!
