Hunt, Le Mans & Johnson Halls

The Village

Discover urban living in the heart of campus. The residential village is composed of three residence halls--Hunt and Le Mans Halls, which house freshman students, and Johnson Hall, for upperclass students-- which offer a variety of designer touches in a contemporary environment. The halls feature kitchens, a large recreation room, laundry facilities, on-site resident mailboxes, 24-hour computer labs and study areas. In addition, the complex houses the university's second dining hall, convenience store, coffee shop and Health & Counseling Center.

The Village is home to two living learning communities (LLCs).  Le Mans Hall features the Natural Sciences LLC, funded by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation.  Hunt and LeMans halls also host the Social Justice and Leadership Living-Learning Communities.

I am originally from San Diego, CA, I have lived in Austin for a year now, but before that I lived about an hour outside of Kansas City, MO. For those two years I worked as a Residence Hall Director at the University of Central Missouri as I completed my master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration. This is my second year at St. Edwards and I could not be more excited to be in the Austin area and working for such a great university! In my free time I love outdoor activities, trying new places to eat, and cooking/baking. I am thrilled to be your residence director and look forward to getting to know my residents!  GO LIONS, ROAR!

Rafael Murtinho, Hunt RA

“Hey y’all! My name is Rafael and I’m one of the RAs for the Social Justice LLC in Hunt. I’m from Campinas, the second biggest city in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. I love reading, binge-watching TV shows (hit me up for Once Upon a Time viewing parties) and movies, baking, eating, and, of course, sleeping. Not to polarize y’all, but I’m 100% a dog person. I’m obsessed with anything Broadway-related, and I WILL talk about musicals for hours - ask any of my friends. I’m a Sophomore Psychology major and Musical Theatre minor, and I plan on working with Drama Therapy in the future. Fun facts about me: my favorite color is orange, I love Coke Zero and White Kit Kats, my personal heroes are Stephen Sondheim and Bernadette Peters, I speak Portuguese, English, a little bit of Spanish and a little bit of French, and I used to play badminton and handball back in Brazil. Don’t hesitate to come talk to me -  I’m nice, I promise. I’m really pumped to get to know y’all! GO LIONS, ROAR!”

It’s one of my many pastimes, including watching too much TV, singing badly along to musicals, and laughing at bad memes. Don’t be shy; drop on by. Savannah Smith, Johnson RA

Hey everyone! My name is Savannah Smith, a sophomore Interactive Game Studies & Fine Arts major. I'm from Cedar Park, Texas which is just north of Austin. I was in the Social Justice LLC last year in Hunt, but now I'm going to be the RA for the 2nd floor of Johnson! I'm currently working as the art director for an indie game dev company called Fat Cat Game Studios that was formed by a group of St. Edwards students last academic year. Besides gaming, I spend a lot of my free time making art & crafting things. I crochet, needle felt, decorate phone cases, make bath bombs, crystal soap, flower crowns, and love to find things at goodwill to spray paint and add to my dorm room, which is in the progress of becoming a magical fairy wonderland. Anyways, I can't wait to see all the new & returning Village residents and have an amazing year together. GO LIONS ROAR!
