Hunt, Le Mans & Johnson Halls

The Village

Discover urban living in the heart of campus. The residential village is composed of three residence halls--Hunt and Le Mans Halls, which house freshman students, and Johnson Hall, for upperclass students-- which offer a variety of designer touches in a contemporary environment. The halls feature kitchens, a large recreation room, laundry facilities, on-site resident mailboxes, 24-hour computer labs and study areas. In addition, the complex houses the university's second dining hall, convenience store, coffee shop and Health & Counseling Center.

The Village is home to two living learning communities (LLCs).  Le Mans Hall features the Natural Sciences LLC, funded by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation.  Hunt Hall hosts the newly re-designed Social Justice LLC.

Sarah Davis, Residence Director

Welcome to the Village! My name is Sarah and I will be your Residence Director in The Village. I am originally from San Diego, CA, but for the past two years I was living about an hour outside of Kansas City, MO. For those two years I worked as a Residence Hall Director at the University of Central Missouri as I completed my masters degree in College Student Personnel Administration. This is my first year at St. Edwards and I could not be more excited to be in the Austin area and working for such a great university! In my free time I love outdoor activities, trying new places to eat, and cooking/baking. I am thrilled to be your residence director and look forward to getting to know my residents!  GO LIONS, ROAR!

Alexa Boone, LeMans RA

Hey everyone! My name is Alexa, some call me Al, and I am absolutely psyched to be an RA in LeMans this year. I've lived in Austin my entire life and I can honestly say that I've yet to get tired of this amazing city. I would describe myself as a teeny tiny, extroverted weirdo. I love music, going to concerts, practicing yoga, drinking tea, eating food, petting dogs, and laughing. I'm a Communication major here at St. Ed's and I love interacting with people and making friends, so I'm excited to get to know you all! Go Lions, Roar!Katy

Katy Gillis, LeMans RA

Hello there! My name is Katy Gillis and I’m a senior biology major here at St. Ed’s.  I’m probably one of the biggest nerds you’ll ever meet, so feel free to make as many science jokes as possible around me. I’m a big fan of eating, sleeping, swimming, running, and science. So if you share any of these interests or just want to come by to chat, you can find me on the 3rd floor of Le Mans. I shall be there with my other scientists…the Natural Science LLC! Wohoo! Anywho I’m so excited to meet everyone and have an amazing year together. Go Lions, Roar!

Jamie Cardenas, LeMans RA

¡Hola a todos! I am Jamie Cardenas, living on the 4th floor of LeMans with the Social Justice LLC. I am a junior, Political Science major with a minor in Psychology, hoping to work to better lives of children in the future. I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX where I developed my love of dance, passion for music, and faith in God. I currently serve as an SGA senator, HSA Vice President, teach Ballet Folklorico, and am involved throughout Campus Ministry. I hope to make this year legen -- wait for it! -- dary! Legendary! Welcome to the Village, and Go Lions, Roar!

Ale Arellano, Johnson RA

HEY LIONS! Welcome to the village! My name is Alma Alejandra Arellano, but since this is very long just call me "Ale" or just Alma :) I am from Laredo, Texas.  I am so very excited to be part of this awesome family, and excited to be a second year-RA in the second floor of Johnson *insert a wuup* I am a Biochemistry, pre-med track major with a minor in Psychology. However, I love to talk about a lot of issues happening around the world so let me know whenever you want to chat even if you live in Hunt-Le Mans. I LOVE to travel, so if you have any cool stories or just want to talk please don't hesitate to stop by my door or if you see me around please say "hey!" GO LIONS ROAR!

Kate Axelsson, Johnson RA

Salutations! My name’s Kate and I’m a Sophomore Communication major from Rockville, Maryland (but I usually say D.C. because that’s more widely known and it makes me sound more cultured. Yes, I hang out with Obama regularly.) This is my first year serving as an RA, and I can be found on the third floor of Johnson Hall – that is when I’m not keeping myself busy with yoga, exploring Austin, improvising with Box of Chocolates Improv, and working with Topper Radio. I’m an avid traveler and speak a good amount of French, but I hope to be fluent one day. I’m a lover of all things comedy, especially puns and Dad Jokes, and hope to be the next Jerry Seinfeld, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Patton Oswalt, Kristen Wiig…you get the image. If I said I wasn’t excited for this year, I’d be lion! Who’s ready to have a roaring good time? (I can’t believe I fit a village pun in already!) Go Lions, Roar!

John Moger, Johnson RA

Howdy! Welcome to the Village. I'm John, the RA for the 4th floor of Johnson! I'll be your guide, friend, ally, or whatever else I can do to help you this year. I'm from Houston, Texas, and I'm an avid gamer. I'm currently in my fourth year of studying criminal justice, and I plan on working in Law Enforcement. Let me know if I can do anything to help you get settled in! Go Lions, Roar!

Maddie Cohen, Hunt RA

Hey there fellow Lions! I'm Maddie, a sophomore Global Studies major and RA of the 2nd floor in Hunt Hall! I'm from Houston, TX, home of Beyonce, which is pretty exciting. I'm a big fan of Netflix, eating, naps, and yoga. I'm so excited to meet all of you guys and make awesome memories this year in The Village! Don't be shy to stop by my door and say hi, or talk to me when you see me around campus! Go Lions!

Katy Szendrey, Hunt RA

Hey, wassup, hello! My name is Katy Szendrey, but you can call me KT. I am a sophomore communication major from Grapevine, Texas. I am a barista at our campus coffee shop, Jo’s, so don’t be afraid to come to me for all of your various espresso inquiries. I also host a radio show on Topper Radio called “Alt About It”, it’s pretty rad so you should check it out! You can also find me hanging out in my hammock or hanging out with dogs at Austin Pets Alive! I am very excited to get to know all of you this year, welcome to the Village and always remember; GO LIONS ROAR!

Michael Pacheco, Hunt RA

What's up and welcome to the Village!! My name is Michael Pacheco and I am super excited to be returning to the Village for my second year as an RA. I will be one of the RAs for the Social Justice LLC on the 3rd floor of Hunt! I am a junior History Education major from The Bay Area in California. Please don't be surprised for when I break into dance or beg you to watch American Horror Story with me, I just like to have a good time and hang out. I am "HELLA" excited for my second year of being apart of the residence life staff and to help everyone have a great living experience in the Village. With our clear eyes, and full hearts, we can’t lose! Go lions roar!

Hannah Orand, Hunt RA

Hello! My name is Hannah Orand and I will be one of the RA's for the Social Justice LLC in Hunt Hall. I am a sophomore psychology major, on a pre-law track. I enjoy swimming, reading everything I can get my hands on, and playing board games. Talents include writing and an impressive ability to have TV marathons. I can't wait to get to know all of y'all and would love it if y'all stopped by to talk or just hang out. Go Lions Roar!

Jeremy Lohr, Hunt RA

Hello there! My name is Jeremy Maximus Lohr (not really) and I come from the small village called Houston, TX. I am a junior Communication major and this will be my second year as an RA with the Hunt fourth floor being my dominion. As a lover of being outdoors and camping I enjoy road tripping and have been to like 6 of the cities Johnny Cash lists in "I've Been Everywhere Man" (impressive, right?). I'm also a self professed cinephile so I can help you answer the long running of question of whether Pasolini or Von Trier make the best date movies. It's Cronenberg. I even have my own library of movies and am one of the reasons blockbuster went bankrupt, so if you want free rentals from me just use the coupons on the back of some old SkyMall magazines. Anywho, can't wait to meet everyone and have a great time in the Village this year! Go Lions, roar!

Liz Adams, Hunt RA

Hi there! My name is Liz and I am a senior Social Work major here at St. Ed’s. You can find me on 4th Floor Hunt and I am so excited to return to the Social Justice LLC as not only a student, but as a first year RA! I hail from San Antonio, Texas (the 210, deuce-dime, countdown city, SA Town, etc.) but I definitely consider Austin my second home. I am currently an Officer in the Social Work Student Association, a Service Break Experience leader, and a site leader for SERVE Austin. When I’m not out volunteering or locked inside Campus Ministry, you can usually find me taking pictures with other people’s dogs, binge watching TV shows/movies/trailers, or eating copious amounts of baby carrots while making various pop culture references and really bad puns. If you ask me about my goals, I’d say that I aspire to have the work ethic of Leslie Knope, the dance moves of Liz Lemon, and the comedic timing of Michael Scott. Welcome to the Village, GO LIONS ROAR!
