Emergency Response

Emergencies are a fact of life but the good news is that St. Edward's has developed a comprehensive Emergency Management Plan to be better prepared in the unlikely event of an emergency.  The plans for each emergency type can be found on the menu to your left.

It's equally important for parents and families to establish your own emergency communication plan. The even better news is that we've made it easy for you -- just follow these four simple steps:

  1. First, bookmark this page.  Or, download a copy of the Emergency Response Guide. (pdf) Adobe® Acrobat Reader required and is available online at no cost.
  2. Next spend some time reviewing the information contained in the different emergency topic links.
  3. Then download and print a copy of the Emergency Numbers (pdf format) form, fill in the blanks and keep several copies handy -- by the telephone, on the fridge, in the car, or in your purse, wallet or briefcase.
  4. Make a plan and talk it over with the entire family.

You can also download a copy of the Emergency Management Plan for each building on campus.

And finally, remember that you define when a situation is an emergency. If in doubt, err on the side of safety by dialing 911 or calling University Police at 512-448-8444. (You must dial 512)
