Attendance at Orientation is required of all new and transfer international students. Students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents are considered international students. Students must attend Orientation in order to register for classes. Student Orientation: Wednesday through Friday, Jan. 8–10, 9 a.m.– 6:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
To Sign Up for Orientation
To sign up for Orientation, click “Log in to EdWeb” at stedwards.edu. Your username and password for this site are included in your acceptance letter. In order to sign up for Orientation, you must submit your $150 non-refundable enrollment deposit. (If you submit your enrollment online, please allow one business day before registering for Orientation. This ensures that your deposit is processed and that you can successfully access the online Orientation registration form.) You must also set fees and financing options through EdWeb before arriving for Orientation. (Students attending St. Edward’s as exchange students are not required to pay the enrollment deposit. Exchange students may access the online registration form once they have received their acceptance letters.) Parents and other family members are welcome to attend the Orientation sessions. Arrival in Austin
A shuttle will run on Jan.8th every two hours starting at 8 a.m. from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. When registering for Orientation, please indicate if you would like a ride. Also, provide your flight information.
Students who have arranged on-campus housing at St. Edward’s may check in at their residence hall or the apartment clubhouse located in Community Building 2 (if you are living in university apartments) on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Students should register for housing online as soon as possible after paying their deposit in order to reserve a place on campus. Log in to your EdWeb account and select “Housing Signup” to apply.
International students should report at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 in Main Building to check in for Pre-Orientation. Students should bring their passport, I-94 card, I-20 or DS-2019, written proof of health insurance (in English), immunization record and all other immigration documents at that time.
All students without U.S. college-level credit for English composition and math are required to take the English and math placement tests on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. Students will be placed in appropriate English and math courses based on their results and cannot register for classes until they have received their test results. Students required to take tests will be notified at check-in for Pre-Orientation. International students are required to attend New Undergraduate Student Orientation on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014.
Austin Connection Fair
Austin Connection Fair is on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. Cell phone providers, banking services, apartment locators and other services will be available on campus to help you get everything taken care of before the semester starts.
Course Registration and Payment of Fees
Prior to attending Orientation, students must set their fees and financing options by clicking on “Log in to EdWeb” at stedwards.edu. After students have attended the Orientation program and completed their placement tests (if required), they will meet with an academic counselor to schedule their classes. Students will be sent a bill for their spring charges after they register.
International Transfer Students
Students planning to transfer college credit from an institution outside the United States should be prepared to submit documentation in English that outlines the content of courses taken. Course descriptions, included in the student’s university catalog, are required to evaluate prior academic work. Courses cannot be transferred without documentation.
