Freshman Student Orientation
Spring Orientation for all new and readmitted students is Thursday, Jan. 9. To register for the session, please call 800-775-6755 or click “Log in to EdWeb” at stedwards.edu. Students will receive general information about the university and the new semester, as well as meet with an academic counselor to discuss classes and register for the spring semester. Parents and other family members are welcome to attend the Orientation program.
Check-in runs from 9 to 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Robert and Pearle Ragsdale Center, and the session will last until 6 p.m. Students who plan to move on campus may do so on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, from 1 to 4 p.m. International students can move in on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. If you already have a housing assignment, please go to your assigned residence hall or the apartment clubhouse and check in. If you have not received a housing assignment, please report to the Residence Life Office located in Community Building 1 adjacent to the university apartments.
To sign up for Orientation or take advantage of early advising and registration, click “Log in to EdWeb” at stedwards.edu. Your username and password for this site are included in your acceptance letter. In order to sign up for Orientation, you must submit your $150 non-refundable enrollment deposit. (If you submit your enrollment deposit online, please allow one business day before registering for Orientation. This ensures that your deposit is processed and that you can successfully access the online Orientation registration form.) You must also set fees and financing options through EdWeb before arriving for Orientation. Please contact the New Undergraduate Student Orientation Office at 512-448-8584 or 800-775-6755 if you have any questions. Students who wish to secure classes prior to the Spring Orientation session may do so by appointment only during early advising and registration, Dec. 11–18. To take advantage of the early registration opportunity, students must first complete the enrollment steps on page two. Once these steps have been completed, students may contact Academic Planning and Support Services at 512-448-8660 to schedule an advising and registration appointment.
Students who are unable to participate in these early registration periods must come to the Spring Orientation session on Thursday, Jan. 9, to meet with an academic counselor and register for classes. Preliminary bills for spring charges will be sent to students in December (this does not apply to international students). Classes for the Spring 2014 semester begin Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.
International students will register for classes during Spring Orientation and are not eligible to register during early advising and registration. Students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents are considered international students. Readmitted, temporary and non-degree-seeking students may attend early advising and registration, Dec. 11–18. This is the only early registration opportunity for these students. In order to take advantage of this early registration opportunity, students must complete the steps outlined on page two. Upon completion of these steps, students should contact Academic Planning and Support Services at 512-448-8660 to make an advising and registration appointment. Please allow two business days between making your enrollment deposit and setting your advising and registration appointment.
IMPORTANT: Advising and evaluation of credit will be based on the official transcripts received. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm the arrival of transcripts prior to advising and registration.
Students living on campus should report directly to their residence halls or the apartment clubhouse located in Community Building 2 (if you are living in university apartments) on your assigned move-in day.
International Student Move-in: Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014.
New, Readmitted and Transfer Student Move-in: Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, 1–4 p.m.
