Dr. Pamela Malone, Interim Program Coordinator for Human Services has been busy publishing and presenting. An article on her work Adolescent Grief and Loss Group that she developed and tested in central Texas high schools was recently published in Social Work With Groups: “The impact of peer death on adolescent girls: An efficacy study of the Adolescent Grief and Loss group,” and she presented at a juried national conference on the outcome of the aforementioned study: “The Impact of Peer Death on Adolescent Girls: An Efficacy Study of the Adolescent Grief and Loss Group.”
Last year, she published the following article in the Journal of Social Work in End-of-Life and Palliative Care: “Disoriented grief: A lens through which to view the experience of Katrina evacuees.”
Her research on children and adolescents has also lead chapters in Children and loss: A practical handbook for professionals.
In early March, she will be leading a continuing education workshop on Group Therapy with Adolescent Girls at UT School of Social Work.
