Leadership Opportunities in Campus Ministry

St. Edward’s University Campus Ministry offers many opportunities for leadership in the areas of worship, service, social justice, retreats, and Catholic and inter-religious affairs.  Leadership is stated as the process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task.  Leadership is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen.

Rev. Basil Moreau, C.S.C. in his writing on Christian Education wrote, “Knowledge itself does not bring about positive values, but positive values do influence knowledge and put it to a good use.”

This is the foundational charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross…to regenerate society, to “bring about a better time” by a constant response to the most pressing needs of the Church and society.

Leaders do not command excellence, they build excellence. Excellence starts with leaders of good and strong character who engage in the entire process of leadership. And the first process is being a person of honorable character.

Waste no more time arguing what a good person should be. Be one. — Marcus Aurelius

“While we prepare useful citizens for society, we will likewise do our utmost to prepare citizens for heaven.” (Moreau, Circular Letter, 36)
