Reflection Questions

Please type your brief and honest responses to the following questions. Pay close attention to the question descriptions below each box to ensure you answer each completely.

Please describe one moment from a previous Service Break Experience that sparked your desire to lead. What do you hope to gain from the experience of leadership? How do you think leading will be different from participating?

What skills do you have that will help you be an effective leader? What are your strengths and weaknesses? How will you help your group build community? Describe any experiences you have had with leadership, facilitating group process, etc.

Leadership of a Service Break Experience requires a large time commitment in the Fall and Spring. Please describe your time commitments for next year including class load, work, standing meetings, etc.

How has your past SBE illustrated theses differences? Describe an area of justice that concerns you at this time. Why?

We do not require any participant to adhere to a faith tradition, but we do ask that leaders be thoughtful about their own spirituality and comfortable with the faith/spirituality/prayer of others. Describe how your faith relates to your interest in service/justice and leading others.
