Mary Moody Northen Theatre at St. Edward’s University presents METAMORPHOSES

October 27, 2004

In Mary Zimmerman’s METAMORPHOSES, the ancient and the contemporary collide to create a magical timelessness of mythic proportion. As each tale gracefully unwinds, the resiliency of the human spirit and the transformative power of love are revealed. Set in and around a large swimming pool, these stories — including those of King Midas, Orpheus and Eurydice, and Baucis and Philemon — make a big splash as they are brought to life by a team of 12 actors, gracefully changing roles throughout the play. Turbulent and hopeful, METAMORPHOSES is commanding storytelling.
