St. Edward’s University Programs in Angers, France
The St. Edward’s University programs in Angers, France, represent an exciting opportunity for students to study at the university's first permanent study abroad site hosted by the Université Catholique de l’Ouest. Academic courses vary by term.
Over the summer months, students are able to participate in shorter-term programs in Angers led by St. Edward’s University faculty members. During the semester and academic year, students take a combination of St. Edward’s courses and French language courses.
Although there is no language pre-requisite, students in all Angers programs are required to study French while in France. Students reside in student housing within a short commute to campus and benefit from educational excursions and cultural activities designed to enhance their experience. In addition, Angers has many student clubs and organizations that further the intra-active community of students
Moreover, the cultural connection between Austin and Angers is not only limited to the sharing of schools, but also the wide appreciation of music, art, film and food through the annual South by South West (SXSW) festival held here in Austin every March. Austin Angers Music is an example of such cultural exchange; artists make the journey every year to Austin to bring a little of "ze French" to Texas.
