Mary Moody Northen Theatre and
The St. Edward's University Theater Arts Program
St. Edward's University is home to one of the finest Theater Arts programs in the region and one of the nation's few undergraduate-only programs incorporating a full season under the Actors’ Equity Association U/RTA agreement. Our award-winning theater training program identifies and nurtures outstanding creative talent through a curriculum that includes:

Students receive the training, education and experience necessary to pursue careers, as well as create a foundation for a lifetime of learning.

At the Center of Student Training
Mary Moody Northen Theatre operates on a professional model and stands at the core of the professional training program. Through the Mary Moody Northen Theatre, students:
- Work alongside professional guest designers, directors and actors
- Earn points toward membership in Actors' Equity Association — the union of professional actors and stage managers in the U.S.
- Explore all facets of theatrical production
Theater Arts majors at St. Edward’s may choose to concentrate in performance, musical theater performance, theater design/technology, theater education or theater administration/stage management. Students also find internship opportunities in film and video production, and with casting agencies and local theater companies.
