St. Edward's almuni Joseph Parks and Valerie Redd are producing a different take on Shakespeare's classic, Othello. The former students are working in New York City's The Secret Theatre, and have employed fellow former St. Edward's students David Gallagher (actor) and Kate Emiger (video production). Parks and Redd realized that the characters' motivations and behaviors in Othello closely resembled the same seen by  veterans coming home from war. From the kickstarter website, they explain that "By setting the action around the veterans of a decade long war with no front line we can shed new light on the subtle and subconscious fears driving the plot of the play and currently affecting America’s soldiers."
