The Literary Arts Festival will take place at St. Edward's University starting Thursday evening with the Visiting Writers' Series and continuing until the release of the Open Ear of the Universe journal and Michael Yang reading Saturday evening. This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
In 2010, former Sigma Tau Delta President Jake McCoy began putting together the first ever St. Edward’s University Literary Arts Festival, which took place in April of 2011. The festival continues in 2012 under the direction of current Sigma Tau Delta President Gloria Adams-Hanley.
The goal of the Literary Arts Festival is to give back to the communities of St. Edward’s University and Austin, Texas by bringing poets, authors, and literary professors to speak and share their expertise. The festival is student run and is free both to members of the St. Edward's University community and others. All students and speakers involved are volunteers. Feel free to invite friends and family to these events.
This year, the festival will take place in the Maloney room on the third floor of the Main Building at St. Edward’s University from March 29-31. We have assembled a diverse team of writers to present, from bloggers to writers of fiction to slam poets. Please spread the word and join us at the Second Annual St. Edward’s University Literary Arts festival.
