Services

 

The Health & Counseling Center provides a confidential and friendly environment to all students who seek treatment. 
  • Services are provided to all currently enrolled students.
  • Services require an appointment unless it is a crisis or an emergency.
  • For immediate medical, police, or fire response call 9-1-1 or the University Police Department 512-448-8444.

Health Services

Services at low or no cost to students include:
  • Assessment and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries
  • Prescriptions for medication if indicated
  • Routine immunizations
  • Nutrition, health and wellness education
  • Information about medications, illnesses, medical conditions
  • Lab testing
  • Well woman exams, sports and travel physical exams
  • After hours phone consultation available to discuss urgent problems (512) 892-7076
  • Referral to appropriate health care providers in the community for illnesses and services beyond the scope of  Health Services
  • Students who have major or chronic medical conditions are advised to be under the care of a private physician.

Counseling Services

Services at no cost to students include:
  • Individual short-term counseling
  • Couples counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Biofeedback
  • Referral to appropriate mental health care providers in the community for services beyond the scope of practice of the Health & Counseling Center.
  •  After hours phone consultation available to discuss urgent problems--Call 512-448-8444 and request to speak to a counselor.
