Immunization Requirements

Meningitis Immunization
It’s the Law (Texas State Law SB 62)
All students, under 22 years of age,  entering Texas colleges and Universities must be immunized against bacterial meningitis.
Students must have the immunization at least 10 days prior to the first day of classes.
Send a copy of immunization record to:

Required Immunizations:

  • Bacterial Meningitis within the last 5 years
  • Tetanus booster within the last 10 years
  • 2 measles/mumps/rubella  (MMR) shots if born after 1957.
  • International students must have a negative TB skin test or chest X-ray within the past year.
Recommended Immunizations:
Conscientious Objection: exemptions from immunization requirements may be granted if an official TDH affidavit is notarized and returned to the Health & Counseling Center. (PDF format or online submission.)
