  • Health Services are available to all currently enrolled students.
  • University provided health insurance plan (Academic Health Plans) is not required for treatment.
  • Visits do require an appointment and we can typically accomodate student needs the same day.

Call 512.448.8686 or come by Lady Bird Johnson Hall, first floor to schedule an appointment.

Health Services offers a wide array of appointment types. We effectively manage the vast majority of our patient concerns. However, if a patient presents with a condition outside our scope of practice, we will refer them to community resources that best fit their needs.

Students who have a major or chronic illness are advised to be under the care of a private local physician.

Appointments with health services are free. However, if a patient needs labwork, and does not have insurance, the patient will be responsible for the charges. Some wellness exams may incur minimal costs. If an x-ray is ordered, the patient will be referred to an outside facility. The facility will require insurance coverage or cash payment for services.

Conditions in which you should schedule an appointment include, but are not limited to:
Sore throats, cough, cold/flu symptoms, earache, etc.
Red eyes, eyelid swollen
Swollen lymph nodes
Sprains and strains
Abrasions, minor lacerations, suture removal
Ingrown toenail
Abdominal pain or cramping
Diarrhea, vomiting, nausea
Female/Male health concerns
Urinary tract infection/symptoms
Rash or hives
Women's annual exams
Sports or Study Abroad physicals
Health information/education
Referrals to specialists

 Canceling or Rescheduling an Appointment
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact the Health & Counseling Center 512.448.8686 as soon as possible. We will be happy to cancel or reschedule if necessary and would like to have open appointment times for other ill or injured patients. Your consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated.
