Student Organizations
Students at St. Edward's University have an opportunity to get involved with the following student organizations:

St. Edward's Educators (SEE)
Advisor: Barbara Frandsen
Students involved in the St. Edward's Educators organization meet several times during the year to provide friendship, encouragement and professional development to students pursuing education careers. This group provides St. Edward's University with a pre-professional organization for graduate and undergraduate students in education who have not been salaried teachers.

Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) The International Honor Society in the field of Education
Advisor: Dr. Kris Sloan
To be eligible for membership in Kappa Delta Pi, you must:
- be enrolled at St. Edward's as a graduate or undergraduate
- demonstrate leadership abilities
- have completed at least 45 credit hours of course work; six hours as a graduate student
- have at least 12 credit hours in education course work completed or in progress
- have a cumulative GPA or 3.25 or greater and receive an invitation to membership
Membership is offered to the top 20% of those entering the education field. Participation in Kappa Delta Pi offers you networking opportunities, student teaching resources, and one year's subscription to New Teacher Advocate and various electronic teaching publications.

Bilingual Education Student Organization (BESO)
Advisors: Dr. Arcelia Hernandez, Dr. Judy Leavell and Fred Estrello
BESO is a nationally recognized organization found in many universities across the United States. Originally begun in the early 1980's by bilingual education students, BESO is both community-service oriented and supportive of the professional growth of its members. BESO raises funds for the purpose of scholarships (for traditional and non-traditional bilingual education students) to attend educational conferences. The St. Edward's chapter meets twice monthly for fun, fellowship and networking.

Physical Therapy Organization (PTO)
Advisor: Dr. Frank Smith
The objective of the Physical Therapy Organization is to encourage and enable anyone in the allied health fields, especially Physical Therapy students, to excel in both their academic and professional careers.
