Students complete one of six concentrations: Initial Teacher Certification; Teacher Leadership; Conflict Resolution; Special Education; Sports Management; or Liberal Arts.

Students take Research Sequence courses determined by their concentration, including Action Research or Thesis Research. Typically, projects focus on real interests or questions facing teachers today, such as classroom management, teaching strategies and special education intervention.

Students pursuing Teacher Certification will complete two semesters of field experience teaching in local schools. There are several opportunities for field experiences during the program, ranging from small group tutoring to a complete semester of student teaching.
