Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide reliable, secure and scalable telecommunications, networking and systems services to the university through highly trained, motivated and qualified professionals. We strive to aid the students, faculty and staff to learn, teach and work through the effective use of the university’s digital infrastructure.

Digital Infrastructure's Service to the University Community

The Office of Digital Infrastructure advances and enables the academic and operational goals of St. Edward’s University. The team maintains a secure, dependable infrastructure and serves as a reliable resource in the use of current and evolving information technology resources. We strive to provide innovative technological leadership and guidance to the entire campus community.

The office of Digital Infrastructure provides facilities management services for the university’s data centers and around-the-clock operational support for all IT computing activities. In addition, we provide disaster recovery and business continuity activities for IT. We are responsible for the design, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of the fiber optic network, telephony, video, data network, and logistics of digital infrastructure.

Digital Infrastructure is comprised of three teams: Telecommunications, Network Services, and the Systems Team. The Telecommunications Team offices out of the Physical Plant building and is responsible for the administration of campus dial tone and cable TX services. The Network Services group offices out of Doyle Hall and is responsible for providing a reliable data network and internet to the university community. The Systems Team also offices out of Doyle Hall and is responsible for servers and systems administration.
