Create a new message

To compose a new message click on the paper and pen button.

Using Address Book

To address a message to be sent to someone in your address book type the name of the group or contact and Mac Mail will automatically fill in the address for you.

Searching Mail

Rather than scrolling through you email to find the message you are looking for, just enter the details you remember about the message you are looking for into the search field.

If you frequently email the same group of recipients, a distribution list can save you time. Instead of having to add each individual contact one by one, you can simply add the distribution list to your email and you have included all of those contacts in one step.

In Mac Mail, you may add prepared text (a "signature") to the end of email you send, whether it be a new message, a forward, or a reply.

You can add one signature to all messages automatically or create several and choose one when you compose a message.

Deleting Messages

1. Click on the message in your inbox.
2. Press the delete key on your keyboard or click the trash icon in the toolbar.

   

3. The message will be removed from your inbox.

Sorting Messages

View Menu: Click on the View Menu, then hover over Sort By to display sort options.

1. Right-click on the Inbox Mailbox, then select Get Account Info.

2.In the Account Info Box, select Quota Limits: this tab will show your quota. If quota is at 0% and you have e-mails this means Mac Mail is still synching.

The Junk Mail options in Mac Mail are designed to keep junk e-mail messages, also known as spam, from cluttering your Inbox.You can change any of these Junk E-mail Filter options for the kind of protection that you want.

Warning: it is recommended that you periodically review the messages in your Junk E-mail folder to ensure that you are not missing any legitimate messages.

Using the Help Menu

In Mac Mail, click the "Help" Menu, then type in a word or phrase that describes your issue.

As you type, the Help Menu will begin to list help topics relevant to your search term.
