EDT is a text editor that may be used with the CARS/Jenzabar-CX system.

PICO is a text editor that may be used with the CARS/Jenzabar-CX system. PICO is a simple, easy-to-use text editor. PICO is the default editor for e-mail when you are using the ELM application to access your e-mail.

Copying and Pasting Text:
EDT+ does not have two separate functions for cutting and copying text. If you wish to copy text, you cut it, paste to the original position, and then paste it to the new position.

Basic Text Editing Features in EDT
All of the commands used by EDT are accessed via the Numeric keypad. The numbers used for functions are KEYPAD numbers. The PF1 key is the Numlock or Clear key. You must use the <Enter> key from the Numeric keypad.
Navigation Keys:
ADVANCE (4) changes the cursor movement to forward.
BACKUP (5) changes the cursor movement to backward.
TOP (PF1/5) brings you to the top of the document.
BOTTOM (PF1/4) brings you to the bottom of the document.
PICO Commands
PICO Commands
The bottom two lines of your PICO editing screen list the available editing commands. Each character typed is automatically inserted into the file at the current cursor position.
Editing commands and curser movement (besides arrow keys) are given to pico by typing special control- key sequences. A caret (^), is used to denote the control key, sometimes marked "CTRL", so the CTRL-q key combination is written as ^Q.

EDT is part of the CARS/Jenzabar-CX application. The template below corresponds to the numeric keypad on a standard windows computer keyboard.

Accepting New Host Key
When Admin server is upgraded you have to accept a new host key. Once you have accepted the new host key you will not have to do this again until the next upgrade.
For PC
When logging into Admin you will get the following pop window. Click on Accept & Save.

For MAC
To accept the new host key you have to first remove the old host key through the terminal.
Installing Tiff Viewers
To Install AlternaTIFF for Internet Explorer:
Navigate to the page and download AlternaTIFF - PC (Internet Explorer).
SecureCRT
SecureCRT is the Windows application used to access CARS. SecureCRT uses SSH to ensure secure connections. If you are trying to access the admin.stedwards.edu server you will need to use SecureCRT.
