Opening iCal

Look for the following iCal icon in your dock.

*Note: If the icon is not there: Go to the Spotlight icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and search for "iCal". Click on the iCal icon listed next to "Top Hit" or "Applications".

How to keep iCal in dock
To set iCal to stay in your dock, right-click on the iCal icon slect Options and then click on Keep in Dock.

Menu Bar
When you open iCal, the Menu Bar will appear at the top of your screen. Here, you have access to the iCal Menu, File Menu, Edit Menu, Calendar Menu, View Menu, Window Menu, and the Help Menu.

iCal Menu
From the iCal Menu you can access your Preferences which allows for you to edit General and Advanced options.
File Menu
From this menu you can create new events, to do items, and calendars. This is also the menu you will use to print your calendar.
Edit Menu
From this menu you have basic editing options available, including cut, copy, paste, delete, select all. If you select an event you can also use the menu to edit the event.
Calendar Menu
You will use this menu to refresh your calendar, this will sync it with Zimbra if you are having any sync issues.
View Menu
You can use this menu to change the view options and the quick view options. This includes month, day, week, notifications, to do list, declined events, and all-day events.
Window Menu
From this menu you can minimize iCal, open your address book, and open the availability panel.
Help Menu
Use this menu to search for assistance with iCal.
