Availability

Equipment Circulation hours:

Since the library information handles circulation of equipment, checkout and returns is dependant upon library hours of availability. Hours are posted on the library website.

The Audio Recording Booth has been relocated back to the New Media Center in the Munday Library.  Please contact the New Media Center or the Library Information Desk for more information.  Reservations can be made through the room reservation system here.

Times when equipment is not available:

During periods of, extreme rain, humidity or inclement weather, there is no equipment checkout. Students cannot check out the same types of equipment over consecutive periods without the supervisor's approval. Renewals are based on availability. The supervisor typically measures availability and demand in these instances.

Equipment Loan Policy

The primary purpose of technology equipment checkout from the New Media Center is to enhance coursework, presentations and other instructional areas of the academic experience. Our goal is to have 100% availability and to provide users with fully functional ready to use equipment.

An SEU ID is needed to checkout equipment. Persons borrowing digital technology from the New Media Center will be charged a rental fee if the equipment is not returned by the specified due date and time. After the borrowing privileges have expired, a rental fee will be charged until the equipment is returned. Rental fees may be doubled over holidays and between semesters. Rental fees apply to students, faculty and staff. Fees owed by staff members will be reported to their supervisors. Fees owed by faculty will be reported to the dean of their respective school.

Equipment return guidelines:

There is a 48 hour checkout policy. All equipment is expected to be returned by the specified due date. Any late equipment will result in a fine under the patron's name. Equipment returned with missing parts will continue to accrue rental fees until the missing items have been returned. We do not re-check out equipment over the telephone. When fees of more than $100 have accrued the amount is added to the student's account. The same rental fees apply when equipment is returned with missing accessories or parts. Borrowers have the responsibility of opening the cases to demonstrate that all contents are returned. Equipment checkout is a privilege that can be taken away from students, faculty or staff returning equipment; more than one week late, damaged or the refusal to pay rental fees.
