Externship/Job Shadowing Program for Winter 2013
What is an Externship?
An externship or job shadowing experience is an opportunity for a freshman or sophomore student to engage in practice based learning by actively participating in a field of interest. This activity is a formal job shadowing program for undergraduate students giving them an opportunity to explore the “World of Work”. It is very similar to an internship but is generally of a very short duration - typically 1 day. Externships and job shadowing experiences are not done for academic credit and are unpaid.
