This past weekend, the St. Edward's University Club Swim team competed at the East Coast Championships National Championships at Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, Georgia.  Club President Curran Kelley and swimmer Kim Carrier left Austin on Friday to fly to Atlanta and compete.

Carrier represented the University extremely well, posting top 15 finishes in the 100 meter backstroke and the 50 meter backstroke.

As a Club Sport, the Club Swim team is responsible for raising funding and sponsorship to offsets for competition, travel, uniforms, apparel, and coaches.  Each member pays semesterly dues, and the Club works out creative ways to find outside funding options.  Additionally, Student Life and Campus Recreation are able to provide some minimal funding for large scale events.  For the National Championship trip, Student Life's Recognized Organization Council helped provide plane and hotel fare for Carrier and Kelley.
