Test Policy

  1. Examinees must complete the St. Edward's University registration process prior to taking any CLEP or DSST exam at St. Edward's University.
  2. Registration is not assured until registration fee is paid in full. If credit card and check payments are declined, test results will not be sent out until the registration fee has been reconciled.
  3. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. It is recommended to choose a date that will not be compromised by the examinee's own schedule.
  4. NO walk-in testing, waiting lists, or stand-by lists are permitted.
  5. There is no admittance 15 minutes after the test session has begun: Examinees will not be allowed in the testing room 15 minutes after the test start time. Examinees who fail to show on time must repeat the entire registration process, including registration fee.
  6. Fees for the actual CLEP or DSST test are paid on the day of the test, prior to administration. Check the registration page for additional information.
  7. Study materials for the CLEP are provided by the College Board for a fee paid by the examinee. Examinees may purchase the CLEP Official Study Guide at any bookstore, including the SEU bookstore. A copy is also available in the reference section of the Scarborough-Phillips Library. Individual subject guides may also be purchased at www.collegeboard.com.
  8. Optional Essays must be ordered at least two weeks prior to preferred test date. Optional essays cost $10.00; orders will not be made until the fee is paid in full.
  9. It is the examinee's responsibility to speak with his/her advisor about what credit will be given for specific tests. The Academic Success Center does not provide advising information.
  10. Reference books, notes, study guides, and calculators are not permitted during test administration. All cell phones must be turned off while in test session.

 

Special Accommodations Policy

  1. Most special accommodations needed by an examinee can be met. Accommodations for CLEP testing must be made prior to or during registration. If the examinee fails to notify the proctor of special accommodations prior to registration, the examinee's test date must be rescheduled and entire registration process will need to be repeated.
  2. Academic Success Center will only accept documentation letters from Student Disability Services in Academic Planning and Support Services. Letters must be current and dated in the same semester of preferred test date.

Active/Reserve Military and Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Policy

  1. Military personnel follow the same process for registration as civilian students.
