On Friday, July 22, representatives from St. Edward’s New College program and Austin Community College gathered at the St. Edward’s main campus for a “Building Bridges” event to discuss their shared mission of serving adult students. The gathering included deans, faculty members, and advisors from both schools.
The group celebrated the confirmation of St. Edward’s as ACC’s third largest transfer partner in their service area. Individuals from both schools made presentations discussing their current programs and opportunities to further advance their partnership.
Bridget Davidson, Director of New College Admission, praised the event for bringing the two groups together. “St. Edward’s has many adult students who come to New College after doing course work at ACC and are very successful. Seventy-four percent of our students who graduated last fall had courses from ACC as part of their degree. ACC is a great partner and we look forward to seeing our relationship continue to grow.”
New College at St. Edward’s will continue to take part in the ACC transfer academy and other opportunities to showcase the value of a St. Edward’s education to ACC students. ACC’s Office of Articulation and Transfer Resources also has added online information about St. Edward’s New College program available to ACC students.
