The executive vice president and provost is the University officer responsible for academic affairs, student affairs, professional education, global initiatives, information technology, and institutional effectiveness. The vice president and associate vice president in each of these areas reports to the executive vice president and provost.

The associate vice president for academic affairs oversees student academic issues and policies, facilitates delivery of the support services necessary to the efficient operation of the college and university and retention, and assists students with academic issues including exceptions to policies. Confirmed cases of academic dishonesty are also reported to the associate vice president.
