The vice president for academic affairs (VPAA) reports directly to the President, serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, and is responsible for both the University’s undergraduate and graduate programs.   The associate vice president for academic affairs, the associate vice president for faculty development and academic programs, and the Deans of the Schools of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Education, Humanities, Business, and Natural Sciences report to the VPAA, along with the Dean of New College.

The associate vice president for academic affairs oversees student academic issues and policies, facilitates delivery of the support services necessary to the efficient operation of the college and university and retention, and assists students with academic issues including exceptions to policies. Confirmed cases of academic dishonesty are also reported to the associate vice president.

The associate vice president for faculty development and academic programs oversees and coordinates faculty development in teaching, scholarship and creative expression, advising, pedagogical innovation and faculty participation in the global initiative. The associate vice president also oversees the academic program review process and provides assistance to departments for the development of new programs. The associate vice president works with faculty in the areas of community-based and community-service learning,and considers the support needed by faculty for these efforts.
